Police have laid more charges in a major fraud case that has already cost victims more than half a million dollars.
The Prince Edward County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police says another victim has come forward, leading to new charges in a long-running investigation that began last year.
Officers first laid charges in July 2024 after multiple victims reported financial losses going back several years. The total amount of fraud is estimated at over $500,000.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, 65-year-old Paul Marconi of Prince Edward County is now facing additional charges of fraud over $5,000 and theft over $5,000.
He has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Picton court on April 9, 2025.
The investigation is still active, and police are asking anyone with more information to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
