On Thursday, March 27, 2025, just after 11 p.m., police said they responded to a report of a pick-up truck in the ditch on Inglis Road in the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand.
After arriving on scene and speaking with the uninjured driver, an impaired operation investigation was launched, resulting in the accused being arrested and transported to a nearby detachment for further testing, reported OPP.
As a result of the investigation, the Cramahe resident was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and having care or control of a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
The accused also had their licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a week.
