Two Cobourg residents are facing charges following separate incidents Wednesday night.
Police were first called to a home in Cobourg’s east end at approximately 8:30 p.m. for a possible domestic disturbance. Following an investigation, officers arrested a 41-year-old Cobourg man. He has been charged with assault – spousal and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm – spousal.
The man was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Later that night, at around 11 p.m., police received multiple calls about a person yelling outside a residence near James Street and Division Street. Officers arrived to find a 35-year-old Cobourg woman, who was arrested and charged with causing a disturbance.
The woman was released with a future court date.
Police are reminding residents that resources are available for those affected by domestic violence or mental health concerns. Anyone needing support is encouraged to contact local authorities.
