The Peterborough Federal Liberal Association is ready to hit the ground running when a federal election is called at some point this year.
That’s the word from local Liberal riding chair Lauren Hunter, who says despite a local Liberal candidate not yet being named, work toward identifying a candidate started last summer after former Liberal MP Maryam Monsef confirmed she wouldn’t be seeking the nomination.
As for the prospect of a federal election being called sooner than later, Hunter says that’s anyone guess depending on how things play out in Ottawa.
Regardless of when a federal election is called, Hunter says local federal Liberal supporters are confident and ready to go.
