Millions of Americans are headed to the polls today to determine the next President of the United State – Republican Donald Trump or Democrat Kamala Harris.
Brock University Associate Political Science Professor Dr. Stefan Dolgert says it’s really been a one-of-a-kind road to election day when you factor in the sitting President not running again, as well as an assassination attempt directed towards Donald Trump.
Dolgert adds that one thing that makes this election stand out has been the push to get younger voters from social media platforms like TikTok.
The U.S. is Canada’s largest trading partner and its next president will be in charge during the review of the Canada-U.S.-Mexico agreement in 2026.
In Canada, there’s about 600,000 Canadians that are eligible to vote in today’s election – which Dolgert says may come down to just a couple thousand votes.
Polls begin to close at 6:00pm Eastern time tonight, with the final polls closing around midnight Eastern time in some states.
