The Cobourg Public Library’s pest control firm was immediately called in on Sunday to confirm the presence of bed bugs in a small confined area.
The firm contained and eliminated the bed bugs that were considered to be “hitchhiker bugs” that came in on most likely someone using the library.
The library will be putting protocols and procedures in place to specifically deal with bed bugs, with the intention that this will not be an ongoing concern.
