Campbellford will soon be home to Mirmil Products.
The major employment news was unveiled this afternoon, as the custom architectural millwork company announced it’s moving to a new to a 165,000 sq/ft, state-of-the-art-facility this June.
Mirmil will be setting up shop in the former Dart Cup plant, which closed unexpectedly in September 2019, putting 50 people out of work.
Right now, the company has about 70 employees, but president and CEO Travis Walker expects to see that figure grow to well over 100 once the new facility is fully equipped and staffed.
Walker also adds he is looking to partner with local high schools and postsecondary institutions to show young people the kinds of career opportunities available to them in the trades.
Mirmil products are used in hospitals and universities, high end hotels, bars, casinos, stadiums and other public buildings across the United States and Canada.
