Kilometers for Kids is a virtual, week-long event this year.
It runs from October 11 to the 18, and outreach and funds development manager at Rebound Child & Youth Services, Rachel Edwards, gives us the details.
She adds that COVID-19 forced them to pivot the event, but the hope is to still put mental health and wellbeing for families in Northumberland in the spotlight.
But, Edwards says if you’re able to fundraise or donate, that is still being encouraged.
Unfortunately, Edwards says the need for services has grown while the ability to fundraise has been hampered, due to COVID-19.
You can register for the virtual Kilometers for Kids by visiting rcys.ca/kilometers-for-kids-2020.
Rebound says participants have a full week to complete a 5 or 10K walk or run, or, you can choose a different challenge altogether, such as dancing, skipping rope, hiking, or climbing.
Whatever you choose to do, you’re being asked to share photos using the hashtag #K4Kvirtual2020.
