Durham Region, just west of here, will enter STAGE 3 of reopening this Friday.
The Ford government says it’s basing its decision to add more public health districts on consultations with the Chief Medical Officer of Health. The province notes what it calls positive local trends of key public health indicators, including a lower transmission rate of COVID-19.
Premier Ford cautions however that regardless of what stage a community is in – it has to remain on guard and follow public health directives.
Durham Region is one of SEVEN public health districts that will move to STAGE 3 this Friday. Communities in the Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit, including in Northumberland County, entered STAGE 3 last Friday.
