
Police are calling on the public for help after a fatal crash in the County Road 45 Alderville area Friday night.
In an update Saturday, April 12, Northumberland OPP confirmed on the on-site investigation had wrapped, with help from the technical collision investigation team and the road had reopened.
Police are now calling on anyone witnesses to step forward or anyone with video or dash-cam footage of the collision to call OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
As previously reported, emergency crews responded at about 8:40 p.m. to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and pick-up truck in the County Road 45 area.
“The pedestrian, a 45-year-old male from Roseneath, was transported to a local hospital where they were later pronounced deceased,” said OPP.
County Road 45 was closed for several hours while OPP’s technical collision investigation (TCI) members attended for their preliminary investigation.
The road reopened Saturday, April 12, at about 3:50 a.m., and the investigation remains ongoing, said police on Saturday morning.

Police are also reminding citizens who prefer to stay anonymous that they have Crime Stoppers as an option by calling 1-800-222-8477, where they may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
No other details have been released by police.
