A 36-year-old Cramahe resident is facing charges after police say they picked up an ALPR alert while on patrol in Brighton.
Northumberland OPP said the automated licence plate recognition (ALPR) system helped police pick up an alert on a vehicle linked to a suspender driver while on patrol in the Brighton area.
Although the notification was related to another owner, the accused was allegedly driving without insurance and returned an alert on an approved screening device (ASD), reported OPP.
Along with a three-day licence suspension, the 36-year-old Cramahe resident was charged with driving without insurance and driving with no currently validated permit.
Police continue to stress to motorists that no amount of impairment is safe when driving and call on drivers to help keep local roads safe through responsible choices when getting behind the wheel.
