
A 19-year-old from Quebec has been charged following a drone-related incident near Warkworth Institution, according to the Northumberland OPP.
Officers responded to a report of a drone in the area shortly after 3 a.m. on March 27. Police believe the drone was used to deliver a package to the correctional facility.
During a search of the area, officers located a vehicle near Murray Marsh. As a result of their investigation, police seized several items, including a drone, batteries, cannabis paraphernalia, a digital transmitter, and a cell phone.
The individual has been charged with mischief – obstructing or interfering with property and having care or control of a vehicle with cannabis readily available.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.
The Northumberland OPP encourages residents to report any suspicious activity.
