The Town of Cobourg is paying tribute to long-time employee Ron Jeschke by lowering flags across the municipality to half-staff. Jeschke, the Town’s Information Technology Supervisor, passed away recently after serving the community for 10 years.
During his time with the Town, Jeschke played a vital role in several key projects, including the transformation of Venture13, modernizing security and information systems, and introducing Wi-Fi at the Marina and Campground. His efforts also ensured Town operations continued smoothly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Beyond his professional contributions, Jeschke was known for his dedication to family. After losing his wife Jacqueline, he devoted himself to his children, often travelling across Ontario to attend sporting events and preparing elaborate family meals.
Flags in Cobourg will remain at half-staff for 72 hours and again on June 18, the date of Jeschke’s celebration of life. The Town has extended its condolences to his family and friends, recognizing him as an invaluable employee and beloved member of the community.
