Port Hope Police say they responded to a call on March 22, 2025, regarding a tenant allegedly smoking fentanyl inside a home.
Police say a verbal altercation broke out after the tenant was informed he had to vacate the premises.
Later that day, officers were called back to the residence following reports of an assault. Police arrested the suspect and charged him with assault and failing to comply with probation.
The accused, a 49-year-old Port Hope man, was processed and released with conditions.
He is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on April 30, 2025.
