A Colborne man is accused of attempting to assault a Northumberland OPP officer while resisting arrest.
On Thursday, March 20, 2025, at about 12:30 a.m., police said an officer was patrolling the Victoria Street area in Cramahe when they located an individual walking, who was believed to be connected to an earlier traffic complaint involving an all-terrain vehicle.
Police allege the individual was intoxicated and attempted to assault the officer while resisting arrest.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 24-year-old Colborne resident was charged with assaulting a peace officer, resisting a peace officer, and being intoxicated in a public place.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
The accused will appear in court at a later date.
