
A 38-year-old Port Hope man has been charged with impaired driving following a traffic stop near Division Street and Highway 401.
Cobourg police say they received reports of a possible impaired driver at a business in the area around 1 p.m. on March 7. Officers responded and located the vehicle before stopping it to investigate.
Police say the driver was displaying erratic behaviour and was placed under arrest. Following a drug recognition evaluation, the man was charged with Operation While Impaired – Drugs.
The accused’s vehicle was impounded, and he was released from custody with a future court date.
Cobourg police continue to encourage residents to report suspected impaired drivers, emphasizing that community safety is a shared responsibility.
