Having surpassed the $1 million mark just a year ago, it’s onward and upward for the Peterborough Petes’ annual Pink In The Rink fundraiser in support of cancer research and support services.
Set for this Saturday night (February 1) when the Petes host the Oshawa Generals, the 16th annual fundraiser has a goal of $50,000. From now until then, cash donations can be made online here.
Petes general manager Mike Oke says the overwhelming yearly response to Pink In The Rink is rooted in the fact that cancer has touched so many in some way, himself included.
Oke says the Petes’ involvement with the fundraiser season after season goes hand-in-hand with the organization’s culture of giving back.
Funds raised this year are earmarked for Pedal for Hope which raises money for pediatric cancer research.
