Cobourg police have charged a 54-year-old man following a domestic disturbance late Wednesday night.
Officers were called to a residence in Cobourg around 11:45 p.m. on January 15, 2025. Police say their investigation revealed that during a dispute, the man pushed his partner onto her bed while holding a large knife. The woman’s finger was cut during the altercation, and she sustained minor injuries.
According to police, the man also allegedly threatened to harm his partner during the incident.
The accused was arrested at the scene without further incident. He has been charged with assault with a weapon and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, both classified as spousal-related offences.
Police say the man was held for a bail hearing and remains in custody.
