Lake effect snow bands off Lake Ontario will move into the area today. The snow bands will move eastward out of the area this afternoon. Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly.
Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.
The weather advisory for Northumberland notes hazards as:
Reduced visibility at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.
Locally heavy snowfall with total accumulations of 5 to 10 cm.
Peak snowfall rates of 2 to 4 cm per hour.
