A Port Hope youth has been charged with assault following an incident involving his mother on January 13, 2025.
According to police, the altercation occurred in the family home during the evening. The mother approached her son to discuss his prescribed medication, leading to a confrontation. The youth allegedly became agitated and struck his mother in the head with a closed fist.
The accused was arrested at the scene and is currently in custody, awaiting a bail hearing. No additional details about the youth or the mother’s condition have been released.
