The Municipality of Port Hope has unveiled its schedule for the 2025 budget meetings, offering several opportunities for public engagement.
A revised approach aims to ensure council has ample time to deliberate on financial matters, with final approval anticipated by November 26, 2024.
The budget process begins on October 8, with a development charges public meeting, followed by discussions on community grants. A key public engagement session will take place on October 17 at Fire Station #3, where residents can share their views on budget priorities.
Subsequent meetings will focus on individual budgets such as the library board on October 22 and the police board on November 12. Council will conduct a full-day review of the proposed 2025 budget on November 19.
Residents are encouraged to participate in a budget survey, available at Municipal Budget – Municipality of Port Hope, to share their input on local services and spending priorities.
