The Cobourg Police Service (CPS) has released its latest bi-weekly crime update, covering activities from July 29 to August 11, 2024.
During this period, CPS responded to 833 calls for service, including four break-ins and five thefts from vehicles. The report highlights the ongoing success of the Dynamic Patrol initiative, which is a key part of the 2024 Downtown Community Safety Action Plan.
CPS officers conducted 48 foot patrols, responded to six suspected drug poisoning calls, and performed 54 property checks within the downtown core and surrounding areas, including Victoria Park. The initiative resulted in 30 arrests, with six individuals apprehended for outstanding warrants or bail violations.
CPS says their focus on increased police presence and community engagement is showing positive results and they remain committed to reducing crime and enhancing safety through proactive measures and community collaboration.
