Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) Foundation is inviting all ages to participate in Lemon-Aid, a fundraising initiative that is running until September.
Started in 2022, Lemon-Aid encourages participants to host lemonade stands, with proceeds supporting the NHH Foundation.
Foundation CEO Rhonda Cunningham recently received the proceeds of 9-year-old Connor and 5-year-old Evelyn’s efforts.
When asked by Cunningham why they set up their stand, Connor had this to say.
Last year, over $6,000 was raised, providing beanies, specialty socks, and gloves for chemotherapy patients at the hospital’s Lions and Lioness Cancer and Supportive Care Clinic.
“We wanted a simple way to engage young philanthropists,” said Rhonda Cunningham, NHH Foundation CEO. “Hosting lemonade stands has become a cherished summer tradition for many.”
Sponsored by Davis’ Your Independent Grocer, participants receive kits to set up their stands. There is no age restriction, and new and returning participants are encouraged to join.
To sign up, contact Chelsea Wolf at cwolf@nhh.ca or 905-372-6811 ext. 3065. Stand locations will be shared on the Foundation’s website and social media.
