Four people face more than 500 charges after OPP allege they seized nearly 100 firearms and drugs at a residence in Tyendinaga.
On Monday, May 27, 2024, Lennox and Addington County OPP issued a release about the investigation.
A few days prior, on Friday, May 24, 2024, the release states the East Region community street crime unit (CSCU), assisted by members of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County and Quinte West detachments, as well as the East Region tactics and rescue unit (TRU), and the canine unit, executed a search warrant at an address on Thrasher Road in Tyendinaga Township.
Police allege nearly 200 grams of suspected cocaine, more than one kilogram of suspected methamphetamine, almost 2,000 grams of suspected MDMA (commonly referred to as ecstasy), as well as quantities of suspected heroin and psilocybin were seized, along with a large quantity of pills.
Police further allege nearly 100 firearms, including handguns and long guns, with some reported to have been stolen, were also seized. According to police, several firearms were loaded.
A large quantity of ammunition, Canadian currency, paraphernalia consistent with drug-trafficking and additional recovered stolen property were also allegedly seized, reported OPP.
As a result of the investigation, police said Joshua Boldrick, 27, Matthew Boldrick, 30, Terry Boldrick, 58, and Sharon Boldrick, 58, all of Tyendinaga Township, were arrested and charged.
In total, police said 508 Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) charges were laid, including:
· Possession of a non-restricted or restricted firearm without a licence — 100 counts.
· Knowledge of an unauthorized possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm —100 counts.
· Unauthorized possession of a loaded firearm — 68 counts.
· Unauthorized possession of a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle.
· Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose — 68 counts.
· Possession of a firearm that was obtained by the commission of an offence — 24 counts.
· Possession of a firearm for the purpose of trafficking —four counts.
· Possession of firearm or ammunition, contrary to prohibition order —30 counts.
· Careless storage of a firearm — 21 counts.
· Possession of stolen property — 28 counts.
· Tampering with a serial number.
· Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking — methamphetamine — four counts.
· Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking — cocaine — four counts.
· Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking — heroin — four counts.
· Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking — other drugs — four counts.
· Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking — other drugs — four counts.
· Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking — other drugs — four counts.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
All of the accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing, reported OPP on Monday.
No other details were released by police.
