While the subject matter of the filming may be ‘scary’, filming will be happening overnight this Saturday so traffic shouldn’t be too frightening.
The production company that filmed in the spring last year will return on March 2nd and residents and visitors will see some road closures and traffic stops in the downtown core.
Specifically, there’ll be road closures and traffic stops on Walton and Mill Street as well as Robertson.
Parking will also be impacted starting from 4 pm on Saturday though you can use the Town Hall parking lot, Elias Street and Cavan Street parking lot.
Here is a complete list of road closures and traffic stops:
Walton Street (from Mill Street to Ontario Street) and
Mill Street (from Barrett Street to Peter Street)
Intermittent pedestrian delays: 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
Full road closure: 7:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
Intermittent traffic stops: 2:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m.
Robertson Street (from Queen Street to Mill Street)
Intermittent pedestrian delays: 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
Intermittent traffic stops: 2:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m.
Parking impacts
Please note that parking will be restricted in the designated filming zones along Walton Street (from Mill Street to Ontario Street) and Mill Street (from Barrett Street to Peter Street). Parking restrictions will begin starting at 4:00 p.m., in preparation for filming activities beginning at 7:00 p.m. During the day on March 2, street parking in the designated areas of Walton St. will be available for short duration only.
Alternative Parking
If you are visiting the downtown on Saturday, March 2, consider using the following parking locations:
Municipal parking lots: Town Hall, Elias Street lots, Cavan Street parking lot
Street parking: Queen Street, Augusta Street, John Street, Upper Walton Street, and parking on surrounding residential streets.
Please note that the former Lakeland Place parking lot at 74 Queen Street and the parking lot at 5 Mill Street South will not be available for public parking as it has been reserved for use by the Production company.
Set-up
Set dressing will be taking place throughout the week at various businesses downtown and will also include road signage installations, replacements and/or removal.
Additional information and reminders
Road closure signage was installed earlier this week (around the impacted area) advising of these closures.
All above times are subject to change. Residents and visitors will be made aware of major changes as they occur.
Filming events are interesting and exciting for many, but please do not impede the work being completed.
We recognize the effects of these activities on our local businesses, residents, and visitors and are grateful for your patience and support in fostering the dynamic film industry of Southern Ontario.
