They’re rolling out an alert system using an app called Alertable. This system helps share information during big events or when there are issues with services. It’s not just for emergencies; they can also use it for everyday news, like if there’s a problem with a service. The Alertable app is available for download on your phone, tablet, or even smart speaker. Notifications can be sent through email and text message as well.
“As we witnessed with the winter storm of 2022, severe weather can cause major damage,
leading to power outages and the disruption of services” says Ellard Beaven, Cobourg Fire
Chief. “The introduction of Alertable will improve the ability for residents and visitors to receive
critical information from the Town.”
The app is available for download on iOS and Android devices.
