The Cobourg DBIA celebrated six grand openings last week in downtown Cobourg, one of them was Sense Home and Garden.
Proprietor Richard Burton opened up the store on Canada Day and he hasn’t looked back since.
Having lived in the area since 2012, Richard says they’ve become really familiar with the area and chose Cobourg after finding a building that they just fell in love with
Richard told us that he makes all of the candle and diffusers himself and is proud to say that they’re all make right here in historic downtown Cobourg
Burton knew that diversification would be key to success and tapped another of his passions for inspiration
Burton reports that the response from the community has been overwhelmingly positive to their product offerings.
When asked to select from his current stock of 16 different fragrances, Richard says “If it’s on the table, it’s my favourite – all 16 of them are fantastic!”
Richard told us that they’ll be expanding on the fragrance line – possibly in time for Christmas, but definitely by early next year in answer to customer demand. Burton also said they’re looking at expanding into bath products including hand soaps, bubble bath, bath salts, and bath oils which will provide a natural compliment to his existing products.
We asked Richard how Sense Home and Garden was being received by the community.
Burton said the move from ecommerce sales and trade shows and to bricks and mortar establishment was a great move and he can’t wait to see what the future will bring.
