With September looming, there’s a big time push to recruit local school bus drivers as Student Transportation Services of Central Ontario (STSCO) launches phase two of its Drive Yellow Campaign.
Phase one of the campaign, held in May and June, saw more than 100 applications received.
STSCO CEO Roy Wierenga says the campaign is a bid to be proactive in addressing the driver shortage typically experienced each fall.
Wierenga says the bus transportation of students is a large undertaking that has to be planned for well in advance of the school year’s start.
Wierenga adds testimonials from school bus drivers are key in the recruitment process.
