We’d like to introduce you to Maryanne Keller, a Rockstar Employee with McDonald’s.
Maryanne has worked for McDonald’s long enough to know her regulars by name, and often what’s going on in their lives. She gets people’s day started with a smile and just what they need to truly have a great day, whether it’s a bite to eat or just a sympathetic ear.
McDonald’s Manager Dave Moore, wanted to nominate everyone but settled on Maryanne whose work during the last McHappy Day raised over three thousand of the 15-thousand dollars donated to Northumberland Hills Hospital in support of their Maternal Child Care program. Moore says Maryanne’s voice is one you’ll likely recognize from the morning drive-thru speaker.
Maryanne was “almost speechless” to be nominated as a Rockstar employee, which is a tall order for someone who makes her living through her “gift for the gab”.
Keller is the first to credit the rest of the team that helps make her job easier and closed our conversation with a quote from Ray Kroc. Kroc purchased McDonald’s in 1961 and created the restaurant’s iconic Hamburger University training program. Today, more than 275,000 franchisees, managers, and employees have graduated from the program and it’s seen as one of the biggest contributors to the restaurant’s success.
Maryanne whole heartedly believes that “None of us is as good as all of us!” as Ray Kroc said, and extends her thanks to the committed team of workers that support her. For Keller, though it’s all about her customers who she sees as family. They’ve kept her coming in day after day for decades.
Rockstar Employee Day is brought to you by Experience Cobourg.
