Members of Brighton Fire and Rescue celebrated the arrival of a new fire truck in a more traditional way.
As another new truck was added to the fleet, they performed a traditional ‘Push-In Ceremony’.
It’s a throwback to the 1800’s when horse drawn equipment was used, and after a fire the carts were pushed by hand back into the station.
Firefighters, staff, and council gathered to push the new truck 281 into the Codrington Station.
The new truck is a 2022 Freightliner and will replace departments’ 33-year-old 1989 International Tanker, which was previously a milk truck with Durham Transport.
