Port Hope Mayor Bob Sanderson has announced he won’t be running for the top spot in the upcoming election this fall.
According to Northumberland News, Sanderson said he’s stepping aside to let another person take the reins of the municipality.
He’s been Mayor for two terms now, and involved in council for over 30.
Sanderson said he’s going to take some time to unwind and then get to work helping the community outside of the office.
The municipal election will take place on Monday, October 24 and will see a new face in the Mayor’s seat for Port Hope.
