
Cramahe Township has hired a new parks, recreation and facilities manager.
The Township announced lifelong Northumberland resident Chris Curwin has been named to the position and starts his new role today, Monday, Dec. 6.
“He has a comprehensive background in administering and organizing community, sports and public events, said Cramahe Mayor Mandy Martin in a press release. “In addition, he has a strong background in public property management. Our Keeler Centre and roster of public parks and facilities will benefit from his expertise.”
For his part, Curwin said he ready to get started in this new senior management role within the Township.
“I’m very excited to get started and make a positive impact for residents of the Township of Cramahe,” said Curwin in a press release.
Curwin has worked for more than 10 years in recreation, with more than five years spent as a municipal manager. He has a parks and recreation management certificate, is a certified ice technician and Canadian certified playground inspector. He has completed successful grant applications, created property maintenance schedules and programs, designed and installed park/playground facilities and overseen capital refrigeration projects.
He has been an active organizer/team member of sports events, including the 2018 Toronto Marlies Calder Cup, various NHL and AHL games (working with Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment since 2014), the NBA, concerts, the Royal Winter Fair and Toronto Boat Show.
