Beaches in Port Hope are open.
After Cobourg Council’s decision to close the beach on weekends, we asked Port Hope Mayor Bob Sanderson abut the municipalities beaches and he told us this:
He adds you will see an added presence of enforcement in the area.
Mayor Sanderson adds that that recreational amenities, including the Municipality of Port Hope parks, trails, and beaches are open for pass through use only.
The municipal skate park as well as the tennis, pickleball and basketball courts reopened on May 22nd. Additionally, sport and recreation fields and amenities, including soccer pitches, baseball diamonds and the fitness park will open, with restrictions.
Physical distancing measures are still in effect for all listed facilities.
