We have an update when it comes to the current COVID-19 outbreak at the Golden Plough Lodge.
That was Bill Detlor, administrator at the GPL.
This outbreak was first declared January 16th with one case in the long-term care home, then a second staff member contracted the novel coronavirus last Friday (Jan 22) and the third staff member tested positive Sunday (Jan 25).
Vaccines arrived this week locally and getting into the arms of the most vulnerable started yesterday at the GPL!
Detlor adds that staff are tested weekly and each staff member and resident is screened twice a day.
Detlor ends by saying there have been no cases among residents.
The County says they continue to work closely with the Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit to limit any possible spread.
