For the time being Port Hope’s municipal beaches and access to the beaches, will be CLOSED on weekends.
There will be no access to the municipalities beaches from 7am Saturday until 10am Monday, until further notice.
The weekend beach closures are seen as an answer to increased use on weekends that make it difficult to maintain physical distancing while COVID-19 remains active in Ontario.
Additionally, parking and traffic congestion in the lots near the beaches was also a determining factor in the decision to close the beaches on the weekends.
