There is Weight Restriction Notice in effect for Hamilton Township.
From now (Mar 1) until April 30th, all roads within the jurisdiction of the Hamilton Township will be subject to weight restrictions (5 tonne per axle) as per Section 122 of the Highway Traffic Act.
During the Spring thaw, most Township roads become too soft to withstand the weight of a fully loaded truck, no matter how many axles.
In an effort to reduce damage to the roads, the Township has restricted truck weight to half loads to 5 tonnes per axle, during this time.
