The Rose Project was developed to give the less fortunate their dignity back.
That’s according to the project’s creator, Rose Wilton.
She says she orchestrated this project five years ago because she saw a need for donations of toiletries to local food banks first.
She says people trying to get back on their feet can now go for a job interview with confidence after they receive something most of take for granted: soap.
This Saturday (Nov 23) The Rose Project is hosting its first Holiday Craft Show, featuring 30 different local crafters at the Town Park Recreation Centre in Port Hope (62 McCaul Street) from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m..
Wilton says this project seems to be opening people’s eyes and hearts.
Bring a new bottle of full sized shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste or new waterproof winter gloves and get a raffle ticket for free!
Wilton says kindness goes a long way, over the holidays and everyday.
Raffle sales will benefit local families who have suffered tragedy or illness, as well as CIS School Christmas baskets for the students.
