It’s election day across Canada as most people 18 and older will hit the polls to vote for a local candidate.
Ann MacDonald is the Returning Officer for Northumberland Peterborough South tells us how things went this morning.
Locally, voters will see Philip Lawrence of the Conservatives, Jeff Wheeldon of the Greens, Kim Rudd of the Liberals, Mallory MacDonald of the NDP and Frank Vaughan of the Peoples Party of Canada on the ballot.
Up for Prime Minister is Liberal Justin Trudeau seeking a second term, Andrew Scheer of the Conservatives, Jagmeet Singh for the NDP, Maxime Bernier for the new Peoples Party of Canada and Elizabeth May for the Greens.

MacDonald tells us what she expects things to be like tonight for voters in the area and adds you just need to bring your ID to vote, so no worries if you can’t find your voter info card.
